Alfred (Chips) Bain

Alfred (Chips) Bain, age 85, of Shelton entered into rest on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Gardner Heights.

He was happily married for 62 years to Nola (Bush) Bain.

Chips was born in Bridgeport on April 24, 1935 son of the late Alfred and Mathilda (Voight) Bain. He started his career as a heavy equipment operator at Leverty & Hurley Company before working for Grasso Companies and O & G Industries. Chips spent the last 20 years of his career working for Archer Landfill Company until his retirement.

He was a very proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (Local Union 478 ACDE). Chips use to love taking the family boating when the kids were young and was an avid NASCAR fan.

He was the beloved father of Reese Bain and his wife Lisa, Robin Boest and her husband Chris and Ryan Bain and his wife Kelly and brother of Margaret (Peggy) Galbicsek and the late James Bain.

Chips was the loving grandfather of Kristina Bain, Thomas Boest, Matthew Boest, Michael Boest and Ryan Bain, Jr. and great grandfather of Rylee and Mason Olivia.

He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Friends may leave condolences at www.riverviewfh.com.
