The floodgates are opening.

Late Monday evening, the Milwaukee Bucks grabbed their title window by the antlers and agreed to a trade for Jrue Holiday, The Athletic's Shams Charania first reported. Going back to the New Orleans Pelicans? An absolute haul, including Eric Bledsoe, George Hill, three future first-round picks and two first-round pick swaps.

In eminently related news, Giannis Antetokounmpo's final day to sign the supermax extension offered to him by the Bucks before the NBA season is Dec. 21, one day before the opener.

Marc Stein of The New York Times:

Indeed, the Holiday move significantly moves the needle in the Bucks' title hopes. His two-way ability and veteran presence in the backcourt, combined with the incumbent star power of Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton, re-cements the Bucks as the Eastern Conference favorites entering the 2020-21 campaign.

Such an aggressive move may also signal an impending long-term commitment from Holiday, which would blow their contention window wide open for years to come. The Bucks were ousted in the second round and Eastern Conference finals, respectively, in each of Antetokounmpo's two MVP seasons. Their sights are evidently set higher moving forward.

The deal caps a busy day of transactions around the league (knock on wood). Chris Paul is reportedly set to become a Phoenix Sun, with Kelly Oubre, Ricky Rubio, Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque and a 2022 first-round pick on the way back to Oklahoma City. The Houston Rockets agreed to trade Robert Covington to the Portland Trail Blazers for Trevor Ariza and a 2020 first, and have a James Harden trade request on their hands -- all per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

With draft capital and intriguing players galore flying around, could the Bulls make a play at a big fish -- or seek out a hefty return for a player of their own (e.g. Zach LaVine)? If one thing is certain amid this unprecedented NBA offseason, it's that anything is possible.
