They’re back! Chip and Joanna Gaines are making their long-awaited return to television after spending nearly two years away from the cameras, and viewers can expect to pick up right where they left off. Three episodes of Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines are currently available on discovery+ (with more rolling out throughout the month), and the first four episodes of Fixer Upper: Welcome Home will be available starting January 29, airing weekly through February 19.
Ardent fans can expect more of the same good-hearted ribbing and beautiful renovations. “I wanted this room to feel like a hug,” Joanna says at one point in the recently released trailer, gesturing to a newly installed exposed-beam ceiling. “I work harder, not smarter,” Chip chimes in as the trailer shows footage of him knocking down walls on demo day, to which Joanna responds, “I have nothing to say after that.”
Eventually, of course, the series will find its permanent home over at the couple’s much-anticipated Magnolia Network, which is set to launch later this year. (The network was originally set to debut in 2020, but plans were put on hold given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.) Until then, discovery+ will be slowly releasing content as part of the Magnolia Network Preview, starting with the January 4 premiere of Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines, and including other lifestyle series such as Running on Hope and Road to Launch, which sees Chip and Joanna chatting with some of the storytellers and stars of the Magnolia Network. One-episode previews include shows that will also be available on their new network, including Growing Floret, First-Time Fixer, and Homegrown. There has not been a definite launch date announced for the network just yet, though the Gaineses said in a statement last spring that they would postpone the unveiling until “we can safely resume production.”
